First Night of Hanukkah

Kenaz has been sick for two days. He coughs. No fever. Because his throat has been irritated, he has a poor appetite and sleep. I have been holding crying Kenaz and walking around middle of night. Akiva is healthy. He tries to innovate a new bad thing as part of being a very very terrible toddler. He got a dreidel tonight.

My Japanese and Chinese friends have asked me how I spend Christmas since my husband is an American. When I tell them we don’t celebrate Christmas, they get confused and disappointed.
