Boxer, Brief or Thong? by Haga

I don’t want to change my style, just because I am pregnant. However skirt is getting more comfortable to wear than pants. When I have to sit for a while at work, my lower stomach gets really tightened and pressured by seam of pants.

I used to love to wear thong especially low-rise one. It doesn’t show underwear line and very comfortable with pants. Now I wear skirt more than pants and find out skirt and thong don’t go together in winter time. My butt cheeks get very cold.

My no change style policy and beauty conscious does not allow me to buy a huge old lady underwear. I am also stingy to spend money on anything just for pregnancy. So I dug into Jesse’s cloth set and found his boxer and brief which he did not take to Shanghai (they are clean!!). Amazingly a boxer brief is very comfortable and covers all my butt, belly and thighs. It also makes me believe my pregnancy is temporary – makes me feel like I am just wearing it for a short period time and get back to thong soon!!

What Jesse is doing right now By Haga

OK, Jesse bought a new digital camera (old one was stolen), so he has been sending me pictures (I don't know how to post picture on blogger yet). The recent pictures are from party at his rich friend house. There are so many good looking young crowds hanging around with glass of drink.

That is life in Shanghai, go to party, drink and smoke. It is not because holiday season. They do it all the time. Night life is huge there.

Looking at those pictures is a little bit torture for me right now. I have twenty something pounds on my stomach. It is getting heavier on me mentally and physically. I know it is like neighbor’s glass is greener thing. Jesse thinks I have nice environment, good home and food. However I am totally bored with pregnancy and ready to go to Chippendales in Las Vegas!!

Have a Good Holiday! by Haga

I went to see OB yesterday. Now I have to see her every other week. I am healthy as usual, and our baby is doing OK at least normal heart beat. I am fortunate to have a good pregnancy.

The other day my friend and I took a walk to the park. She has a year old son. She put her son into a stroller and pushed it around. I stuck out my big belly. It was beautiful day. We were quite happy to walk, chat and eat baklava we got at Jewish deli. Then young woman walked by and told us “You guys make me want to have a baby!”. My friend said back to her “Take your time!” and whispered to me “We waited until recently our mid-thirty”. I thought a whole conversation was funny. Being pregnant or having a baby is a statement whether you want or not.

Yesterday I set beautiful menorahs which my in-laws gave us. Tonight is the fist night of Hanukkah.

Maui or Shanghai? by Haga

My friend is move out of the bay area. The high cost of living made her and her husband decided moving away. They are moving to Hawaii where her husband is from and his family is there. They have a year old baby girl. It is good to be closer to family.

She has been telling me how hot guys are in Hawaii. I have never been there, but I can imagine there would be so many George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Vin Diesel and Yutaka Takenouchi look like hot guys. They would all walk around half naked with sun tuned skin and tattoo on the beach.

Meanwhile I am going back to Shanghai. A guy has not been a subject of beauty. All guys are measured by how thick their wallets are. An oily smelly hair, brown teeth by smoking and drinking black tea, and flabby stomach could be attractive if he is successful.

I am so jealous of her.

Living Abroad 101 by Haga

Living abroad is difficult. The fist year will pass by really quickly when you still enjoy everything as a tourist. The second year gets hard, because you are no longer tourist. You have experienced everything new in the first year. Nothing left, but home sick. The third year gets harder. You will get lost who you are where you belong to. Then the forth year, things get easier and you would be no longer a foreigner in the country you live.

Meanwhile you would lose all your “friends” slowly in your country at the first year. The second year, you would feel you have no friends either your country or the country you live now. You even feel your family no longer understand you. The third year, you realize only good friends still remain as friend in your country who have a living abroad experience or something similar and you would slowly build new friends in the country you live. The forth year, your family would accept who you are or you would accept who they are.

What I am getting here? I am trying to understand why Jesse lost passion for his blogger. He has lived in abroad in and out, but he is still a beginner. I consider myself as experienced, because I have lived in the US for eight years.

Jesse said there is not much interesting things are happing in his life in Shanghai, plus no one look at his blogger anyway. I was really upset when he told me. He has no right to decide what is interesting or not in his life. Life is not always interesting in any world anyway. Only people who are interested in him look at his blogger. They are interested in you so they find interesting on things you do. He should be glad not so many people are interested in him. He is not celebrity. No paparazzi is going to chase after him. Occasionally only good friends and family look at his blogger is good enough, right?! He is going to lose all his friends anyway but only good friends.

I hope he will get back his passion on blogger sometime. Meanwhile I will update his blogger.
